Here is what JPI's environmental assessment report says about fire protection for The Jefferson:
This must be Texas logic. While additional tax dollars may allow for new equipment to be obtained (and there's no evidence the Ardsley Fire Engine Company needs any additional equipment), how will additional tax dollars serve to increase the number of volunteers? Of course, the answer is the millennial's who will be renting at The Jefferson will be taking the training classes. However, had JPI done its homework and really cared about fire protection, it would have learned that classes are not held at Village Hall but at the firehouse and off-site training centers.2. Fire a. Existing ConditionsThe project site is within the jurisdiction of the Chauncey Fire District. The Village of Ardsley Engine Company No. 1 provides fire protection services to the Chauncey FireProtection District under a contract with the Town of Greenburgh. The fire department is 100% volunteer, with members required to take state training courses along with weekly training that takes place at the department’s headquarters in the first floor of the Village of Ardsley Municipal Building.b. Anticipated ImpactsThe proposed re-development population will utilize police and emergency medical services.c. Proposed Mitigation MeasuresImpacts to the fire district will be mitigated by the additional property taxes generated by the redevelopment.
In our next post we will meet the typical millennial JPI's own expert says will be living at The Jefferson. Hint - he is not dressed as a fireman.
